1. Quick Detailer: 5-7 Minutes

Quick Detailers are sprayable cleaners made to clean and protect your car in one step. Simply spray on and wipe away. Our recommendation is to use Rinseless Wash from DIY Detail. But, you can also find Quick Detailers at local part stores and even Walmart. This step is perfect when you find bird droppings, fingerprints, or other small debris on your car. We recommend using a microfiber towel and the cleaner to wipe away the blemishes before they damage your paint. Here’s how:

Step 1: Two sprays of the cleaner on your towel and one on the dirty area of your car.

Step 2: Gently wipe the dirty area in a back and forth motion. Do not wipe in circles.

Step 3: Use the dry side of the towel to finish off the area.

This is important to remove acidic bird droppings and bug guts as well as reduce hard water spotting. These types of grime actually burn into your paint leaving damage over time. The only way to remove that damage is by polishing. Quick Detailers also have polymers in them to boost gloss.

2. Wipe Down Dash and Console: 3-5 Minutes

You spend all your time in your vehicle as the driver. What does the driver see? The dash and console of course. You can also maintain these areas using the same cleaner as before and 2 microfiber towels. This time, we recommend only getting the towel wet to clean this area. This is how we do it:

Step 1: Wet one microfiber towel a little. You do not want a dripping towel. If you soak the towel, ring it out till it stops dripping and start wiping down the area.

Step 2: Use your dry towel to dry the area you just cleaned with the wet towel.

That’s it! You can also use these same steps to clean the inside of your windshield and windows. This process is safe for all materials in your car, just don’t get anything soaking wet.

3. Shake Out Floor Mats: 3-5 Minutes

We have another quick and easy tip for you. Remove and shake out your floor mats. We have a ton of dirt and dust here in Albuquerque and it always lands up inside our cars. Whether you have carpet or rubber floor mats, they catch the majority of dirt you bring into your car. If you have a little extra time, you can also vacuum the mats and the area around them for that finer touch. He’s what to do:

Step 1: Remove floor mats from your car.

Step 2: Shake, slap, punch your floor mats to knock out the dirt and grime.

Step 3: If you have some extra time, vacuum real quick or just return the mats to the car.

Shaking out the floor mats will remove dirt and grime quickly and make the biggest difference with the least amount of time. You will also prevent odors from building up in your car.
